We Took Curren Caples On A date To Mini-putt In The Monster Children x Vans Shoe

Photography by Andrew Peters.

Curren rips at skating and surfing, but he’s also a dreamboat.

Actually, now that you mention it, apart from the dashing looks, the skating and the surfing probably has a lot to do with him being a dreamboat. At least to us, they do. No wonder then, we take any excuse to hang out and take his photo. But where does one go when in Los Angeles with one of Vans’ best skaters? How about to the LA River?

Honestly, less waves than we would have expected. Isn’t river surfing en vogue right now? What gives?

We’ll make em waterproof next time.

A good try, but less romantic than that scene in Drive with Carey Mulligan makes it out to be. After a quick stop and some splashing around, we go onward, then, to mini-putt.

Theorizing on the next hole.

Told you. Dreamboat.

Aw look at him, all tuckered out. There ya go, buddy just a little lie down.

It’s hard to tell who won, particularly because as far as we know, we don’t play golf, and neither does Curren, but then, mini-putt isn’t really golf. It’s more of a vibe. A dominating, rainbow, 1800’s sort of vibe, where everything is as mini as the clubs you’re forced to use despite trying to bring our own. It gives you a sort of Godzilla-esque opinion of yourself, stomping around a miniature town equipped with Danish windmill replicas, absolutely ruling over the tiny hypothetical plebeians below. Their town is your play thing, and Curren will do with it as he wills.

Explaining how close he was to a hole in one.

If only there were a way to combine skating and mini-golf. Science, get on it.
