We first wrote about Naquan Rollings back in 2021.

Then again in the 2022 print issue. Then again in the 2024 podcast series celebrating twenty years of Monster Children. For being such a lowkey filmmaker, we have a lot to talk to him about. When he speaks on something, it is with a lot of thought and determination. This methodology is reflected in his video work. Known for his skate video directing, Naquan has ventured into more broad film and video directing and editing, pulling the aesthetics of skateboarding into other applications of the video medium. All of this to say, we are interested in those who are stylish and selective, and in whose art we never get tired of, and so as one of the hardest working filmers in skateboarding, let alone in New York City, we met him at Blue to see what he qualifies as a necessity worthy of tossing into the well-divided backpack.
