dust (lowercase) are a band from Newcastle who beat the fuck out of us one night a few years back.

Not literally, though they surely could have. They beat the absolute fuck out of us via their performance. Let me set the scene. It is a warm night in Austin, Texas. The band traveled all the way from Australia to play the Monster Children Showcase at SXSW. Five bands have already performed. It is one in the morning and the crowd begins to turn for the door. Suddenly, a raucous in the dark - the stage illuminates. It is dust, and they aren’t fucking around. The crowd turns back from the door toward the stage, captivated, entranced, threatened. Musical punches being thrown, the hundreds of onlookers are pulled into the brawl. dust plays their set to our astonishment. If they can fuck us up at one in the morning, they can fuck you up any time they want, and here are the songs they’ll listen to while they do it.
