Brief

JanSport was launching a new range of collaboration product with legendary artist and professional skateboarder Mark Gonzales. They were looking for a turnkey production and publishing partner for launch assets and promotion.

The Work

Monster Children worked with Gonz to produce a content shoot in NYC in what became “Nosepick Poetry”, a short glimpse into the spontaneous life of Mark Gonzales. We then worked with Mark to turn his custom JanSport art into a large-scale mural in Los Angeles and host an art show with the original art from his collection—featuring personalized and signed art prints from the legend himself.

The Content.

JanSport had multiple needs when it came to the assets required. We created white label lifestyle assets with Mark Gonzales and local NYC skaters to serve as the key imagery for the campaign, as well as a short film titled ‘Nosepick Poetry’, directed by frequent Spike Jonze collaborator, Danilo Parro. To celebrate the launch of the collection, we flew Gonz out to LA to paint a large-scale mural and host an intimate art exhibit (and birthday party).
