WES GLOVER

ABOUT:

Canadian by birth, I moved to Raglan, New Zealand in 2019 and headed for the shores of East Coast Australia in 2020. Spending most of my time in the ocean, I am constantly trying to fit daily rituals around surfing, something I’ve always wanted instead of having a career being paid a bunch of money.

I don’t have any formal education in journalism and I have never studied creative writing. Everything I learned about writing I learned from reading

— the gonzo energy of Hunter S. Thompson, the lucid prose style of Joan Didion, the brevity and precision of her language. Writing as performance. Writing as a form of paying attention.

I write about photography, art and culture. I have written for Monster Children, Tracks Magazine, and have a piece coming out later this year with The Surfers Journal.
