Oceanographic Magazine has just announced the finalists and winners of their annual Ocean Photography Awards, awarding photographers in six categories ranging from exploration to adventure to conservation. Photographer Nadia Aly took out the top prize for Ocean Photographer of the Year (along with Collective Portfolio of the Year) for her shot of mobula rays going ham off the coast of Mexico.
Elsewhere in the top picks are penguins getting cuddly in Melbourne, sharks getting tubed in WA, freedivers bobbing above microbial clouds in cenotes and so much more, so if you want to indulge in a bit of appreciation for the big blue, head to Ocean Photography Awards right after you check out some of our favourites below.
