Zombie films. I can take ’em or leave ’em, but mostly I leave ’em. Because they are very, very stupid.
That said, I will be definitely be watching Army of the Dead when it comes to Netflix next month because you know what? It’s set in Vegas and features a zombie tiger—best idea ever. Just give that tiger its own movie, Hollywood. Duh. Or what about a whole zombie zoo? (GASP) That’d be sick! That’s my idea. I wrote it here first. Let me check Google to make sure it doesn’t already exist… Nope! It’s a Tom Petty song about prostitutes, but Zombie Zoo the movie does not exist. Ker-chang.
Army of the Dead is directed by Zach Snyder (300, Watchmen, Justice League), and at first glance, it looks like your typical heist movie. There’s $200 Million dollars in a notoriously impenetrable safe below Las Vegas, and some clever dude puts together a ragtag crew of heist-masters (whose personalities no doubt clash) to crack the safe and steal the loot. Howeverrrrrrrrrr, the part of Las Vegas the money is under has been quarantined because of all the zombies, and the government has plans to nuke the area in 32 hours. What? Yes. And there’s a zombie tiger, p.s. Army of the Dead will be released on Netflix May 21
