Vimeo Just Announced Their Favourite 10 Films of the Year

Each year, Vimeo’s curation team hand-selects over a thousand Staff Picks from the millions of videos uploaded.

They then put on a huge awards night in New York, invite big names like Danny Devito, Alec Baldwin, and industry big wigs to judge their selection of nominees, and end up with 10 winners from each category. As a nominee in the ‘Best Brand Story’ category this year, Monster Children were lucky enough to attend the awards night, and we were floored by some of the winners from across the different categories. Check them all out, below.

Branded Content Winner: Exit 12: Moved by War

After two tours in Fallujah during the Iraq War, US Marine and Combat Veteran Roman Baca came home ravaged with depression, anxiety, and anger. With few places to turn, Roman went back to his first passion, ballet, as a way to cope—and discovered that through dance he was able to ‘reprogram’ himself and begin to heal. This inspired Roman to start Exit 12—a New York-based dance company led by Veterans and military families. Through dance and choreography, Exit 12 tells stories about the effects of war—both to heal themselves and also to change the perceptions and stereotypes of the Veteran community.
