Australian electronic dance pioneers The Presets came out of the gates strong last year with blinding fourth studio album, HI VIZ.
With the pair’s futuristic cyber rave dominating the airwaves and festival main stages ever since its 2018 release, Kim Moyes and Julian Hamilton are now looking to their next challenge—collaborating with some of Australia and New Zealand’s best up and coming creatives, to create a music video for one of the album’s steamier tracks, ‘Tools Down’. Yes, we’re looking at you, fanboy/girl.
In partnership with Adobe, The Presets are searching for young creatives to collaborate on a user-generated lyric video for ‘Tools Down’ for Adobe x The Presets: Lyrical Masters. Alongside renowned Aussie artist and long term collaborator, Jonathan Zawada, The Presets and a panel of industry big wigs will pick their 100 favourite designs to be used in a lyric video as an OFFICIAL The Presets film clip. Think about how good that’s going to look on your resume below ‘dogwalker’ and above the referee contact details for your mother. The Presets are pretty psyched for it too.
‘We are pumped to hand over the lyrics of ‘Tools Down’ to creatives to help put together this lyric video,’ the guys said about the project. ‘One of the most thrilling and rewarding aspects of our profession is watching other creatives add new depth and dimension to our music through visual art and design. ‘Tools Down’ is one of our favourite songs off Hi Viz, and we can’t wait to see what amazing ideas the entrants throw at it!’
Now you and The Presets’ blood is fizzing be involved, let’s get to the fine print.
