Teenager Registers People to Vote While Waiting in Line at Popeyes

As chicken enthusiasts around the US register to vote on the fiery Popeyes versus Chick-fil-A fried chicken sandwich debate, a 17-year-old has made better use of his time in Charlotte, North Carolina.

WKYC reported that local teenager David Ledbetter helped 16 people—who were waiting in line for Popeye’s new viral chicken sandwich—register to vote in the upcoming 2020 election. The high school senior isn’t old enough to vote himself but felt compelled to help others who could have a say. With North Carolina currently ranked 33rd in the US in overall health and with 14.7 per cent of its residents living below the poverty line, the upcoming elections will be important for the people of NC.
