Barcelona in the springtime never gets old.
And it’s not just because of the perfect weather and even better skate spots dotted all across the city—as the city starts to heat up, so too does the arts and music scene. On any given night of the week, you can stumble across art exhibitions, concerts, video releases, and of course, attend one of the best music festivals in the world: Primavera Sound.
The lineup this year seemed pretty fitting for the festival’s 18-year anniversary; it took on a whole new twist, including such a broad mix of genres that was guaranteed to keep everyone moving. The biggest drawcard for me this year was Built to Spill, the American indie rock band who were celebrating the 20th anniversary of their record Keep it Like a Secret (which most skate nerds will know is their most iconic project to date).
Elsewhere on the lineup were acts like Solange, Erykah Badu, Tame Impala, Interpol, RosalÃa, Mac DeMarco, FKA Twigs, Soccer Mommy, Jungle, Aldous Harding, Kali Uchis, and so much more. Here’s some snapshots from an insane few days at Primavera Sound.
