Na-Kel Smith Reboots a Classic for adidas Skateboarding

If you’re a fan of the previous collaborations between Na-Kel Smith and the Three Stripes, odds are you’re going to be into this.

adidas Skateboarding has just released a first look at the pro skater and rapper’s iteration of the Rivalry Hi OG silhouette: a high top, all-black colourway shoe that looks like it’d feel just at home on the basketball court as it would as the skatepark. Word from Na-Kel is that the classic shoe was once gifted to him from adidas, and after noticing that he was rarely stepping out in anything else, they offered him the chance to release it with his own custom updates.

Accented with collegiate gold and green and retro-inspired ‘Na-Kel’ branding, the shoe features blended suede and synthetic upper for durability, a die-cut sockliner for comfort, and a sticky rubber outsole for precision grip. With bold colours and a chunkier design, they’re definitely not your average skate shoe—but Na-Kel’s not your average skater either.

The Rivalry Hi OG by Na-Kel will be available through select skate shops only, beginning January 18th.
