Morrissey on The Simpsons?

Well, this looks fucking awful.

As if that Shoplifters movie wasn’t bad enough (to be fair, I haven’t seen it but the trailer is bad and the reviews are pretty rough) Morrissey was on Fox’s cash-cow The Simpsons last night. Not literally, but The Simpsons’ writers invented an imaginary friend for Lisa named ‘Quilloughby’ who is basically Morrissey. The episode is called ‘Panic On The Streets of Springfield’ (groan) and Quilloughby sings a few songs (courtesy of Brett McKenzie from Flight of the Concords), including ‘How Late Is Then’, ‘What Difference Do I Make?’ and ‘Hamburger Is Homicide’. Quilloughby is a staunch vegan and was once the lead singer of a band called The Snuffs… I hope to Christ Morrissey had nothing to do with any of this because I would like to see Fox hauled through the courts and stripped of millions. What an absolute fucking abomination. Quilloughby is voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch, who does his best with a lame script. Clip from the episode and Moz’s response below. Yuck. Yuck. Yuck.
