Monster Children Short Film Awards – How To Enter

Monster Children Short Film Awards – How To Enter Welcome to the 2022 Monster Children Short Film Awards presented by Wānaka. You’re probably wondering how do I actually enter this thing? Can I send a VHS covered in bubblegum and stamps to Crombie’s house? The answer sadly is no.

How To Enter: To be eligible to win the 2022 Monster Children Short Film Awards you’ll need to do the following as a basic guide, all the detailed rules and terms and conditions can be found here if reading long-winded dry text is your thing. Submit a short film via a Vimeo link on the entry page with footage that is yours or you own all the rights and or have explicit permission to use for these awards. It must be at least 30 seconds long and a max length of 5 minutes. It must be submitted between March 17th, 2022, and April 17th, 2022

Respond directly to the 2022 theme ‘A Sense of Place’.

The process:

Entrants to submit their short film in line with this year’s theme: ‘A Sense of Place’

Our guest judging panel will critique and rate their favorites. This process will determine the final shortlisted five, who will then be tasked to write a top line treatment proposing the short film idea they wish to make in Wānaka, should they be selected.

Monster Children founders will assess the five treatments and decide on the finalist who will win the grand prize.

NB: We’re only accepting entries via a Vimeo link. If you don’t have a Vimeo account you’ll be directed to create one, usually, the options you’ll see are the paid account options. There is a free account called the ‘Basic Account’ and you can set up one of these for free. Get started with a basic account here.

Again, you can read the full terms and conditions here before you enter here
