Sparks follows a north coast New South Wales local kid, Jesse, who is always found surfing water-logged, beat up, ‘90s mini mal thrusters, usually with a missing fin. Despite not having the flashest equipment, you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone else having more fun in the lineup. Jesse regularly finds old boards in the council pick ups and fixes them up, giving life to boards that would otherwise end up in landfill. Regeneration in the most grom froth form - something we can all get behind.
