LCD Soundsystem are Back!

The last time we checked in with LCD Soundsystem, the band was on ‘full hiatus’ with ‘zero plans to tour, record or even make t-shirts.’

But we knew they’d be back, and back they most definitely are with a huge residency at Brooklyn Steel, kicking off next month and continuing until December. James Murphy and co. have returned all guns blazing with a 20-date run of shows at the NYC venue, announcing the news with a simple Instagram post featuring the dates:

The last time we heard from the band back in January of 2019—if you’re able to travel to the recesses of your mind and remember a time before Covid—when they released Electric Lady Sessions, a compilation of live-in-the-studio tracks. Murphy wrote of the record on Instagram, ‘We recorded this last year at Electric Lady Studios in New York—the big room downstairs—and it was exciting, actually. It’s a good sounding room with a lot of history. Hell, Lennon and Bowie made “Fame” there, which was the first 7″ record I bought back in something like, 1976.’

Tickets go on sale October 8th at 10am here, and if you’re in NYC and need reminding of why you should go Dance Yrself Clean at one of their 20 shows at Brooklyn Steel… here it is.
