King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard are doing their bit by releasing not one, but two new live albums for bushfire relief.
The proceeds from both albums, Live in Paris ’19 and Live in Adelaide ’19, will go to Wildlife Victoria and Animals Australia. The donations for wildlife organisations are desperately needed—it’s estimated that over 1.25 billion animals have been killed as a result of Australia’s catastrophic fires. Makeshift koala hospitals have been set up in local primary schools, helicopters have been dropping food to wildlife in bushfire ravaged areas and according to WWF, as many as 8,400 koalas have already perished in the fires in NSW alone, and these numbers continue to rise.
So, if you do one good deed today, check out King Gizz’s live albums on Bandcamp (who’ve agreed to donate the revenue from both releases to the band’s selected charities too) and chip in some money for a good cause, and two very, very good albums.
