The long-awaited Anthony Bourdain documentary is almost here, and you can catch a first look in the film’s emotional new trailer.
The documentary dedicated to the life and times of the much-loved chef, author and TV host will air on CNN and HBO come June 16, and will feature unseen archival footage, as well as interviews with some of the people who knew him best. Directed by Morgan Neville (20 Feet from Stardom, Won’t You Be My Neighbour?), the film is already being touted as an Oscar frontrunner; similar to his beloved TV series Parts Unknown, Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain is narrated using voiceovers from Bourdain himself, staying true to his unique style of storytelling, even while no longer present.
Bourdain left a huge back catalogue of books and TV episodes behind him when he tragically took his own life in 2018 at age 61, but this new film is yet another welcome opportunity to hear his thoughts on life, food and travel, from an unmistakeably Bourdanian perspective. Check out the trailer above, and don’t forget to pencil in June 16 for the premiere of Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain.
