COVID-19

Entire Dischord Records Catalogue Free!

Dischord Records have made their entire 40-year catalogue available for free on Bandcamp.

Goddamn, that’s pretty punk rock! Hey, what about when old white guys in documentaries unrelated to punk say, ‘We/it/I was really punk rock.’ Kills me. You’ll notice it all the time now. Label founders Ian MacKaye (who we interviewed a while back) and Jeff Nelson announced the free-for-all on Twitter:

‘Today, @bandcamp is waiving its revenue share to help artists impacted by COVID-19. The complete Dischord catalogue is currently available on the site as are works by a number of labels, musicians and bands who will benefit directly from your support.’

Ian with hair. It all makes sense now.

Notable bands from the Dischord roster include Minor Threat, Government Issue, The Faith, Void, Iron Cross, Embrace, Rites of Spring, Nation of Ulysses, Scream, Soulside, S.O.A., the Teen Idles, Gray Matter, Jawbox, Maximum Farts, Marginal Man, Shudder to Think, Dag Nasty, Lungfish, Fugazi, Q and Not U, Creepy Pig, Beauty Pill, Antelope, Soccer Team, French Toast, Faraquet, Black Eyes, The Aquarium, Title Tracks, Edie Sedgwick, and Slant 6, among many others. Very punk rock.
