The Spanish ‘agit-prop’ art collective Democracia projected anti-authoritarian artworks on the Houses of Parliament and the Bank of England on Saturday and got shut-down fast.
The projections on the Houses of Parliament were only up for a few minutes before a police boat roared up the River Thames and had the artists turn their projectors off and give their names. Later, when the group projected on the walls of the Bank of England, the cops showed up quick-smart again and shut Democracia down for the night. I love this kind of protest because it’s non-violent and throws the powers that be right off balance. Oddly, this story didn’t get much coverage in the news. Or maybe that’s not odd?
