ELENA SAVIANO
WRITER / PHOTOGRAPHERABOUT:
My name is Elena Jade Saviano. I’m from Los Angeles, California, specifically the San Fernando Valley, where it’s hot and dry and you can literally bake cookies on the sidewalk. I now live in New York City, and I hate the humidity and the cold and the way it smells, but I will probably never leave. I was born in the Year of the Snake. I have a cat who I would make any sacrifice for. I can surf under very specific conditions. I can roller blade but not roller skate. I won the most improved student award in my piano school in 2008 and have been riding the high ever since. My go-to beer is a Stella. My go-to karaoke song is Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls. I love reality TV, because it boosts my ego and wastes my time. I used to want to be in a band, but now I photograph and write about bands for Monster Children. Reading all of this back makes me feel pretty dumb, but maybe I’m dumb and you’re dumb and truthfully nobody cares anyway. So I hope you laughed at me at least once.
