Best King Gizz Show Yet

Over two huge nights, the Roundhouse in Sydney was flooded with die-hard Gizzheads.

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard really need no introduction. The seven-piece from Melbourne puts on the kind of live show that truly defies explanation—anyone who’s ever experienced the sheer madness of a Gizz set will know what I’m talking about.

With over ten albums to their name, King Gizzard’s live sets are never lacking. While you can’t go past classics such as ‘Rattlesnake’ and ‘The Bird Song’, what really stole the show at Roundhouse were Gizzard’s latest tracks: ‘Organ Farmer’ and ‘Self-Immolate’. Stepping it up a notch from their usual psych-rock classics, these songs are as heavy as it gets… the song titles say it all.

In true Gizz fashion, death circles were formed and sweat was shared. The mosh pit soon became a treasure trove of smashed phones and missing shoes. At least two Gizz fans decided to just carry their shoes instead of wearing them—a strange choice considering the circumstances, but hilarious nonetheless. Support acts from the night were Bitch Diesel and Midlife; two unreal Melbourne bands you should certainly wrap your ears around.
