You’re Invited: THE STROKES: ‘IS THIS IT’ 25TH ANNIVERSARY. ONE NIGHT ONLY.

Behind The Gallery and Marshall will present The Strokes: Is This It – 25th Anniversary, a one-night-only exhibition marking twenty five years since one of the most important debut albums in rock history.

The exhibition takes place Wednesday, 22nd of July, 2026 at 1/52-54 Stanley St, Darlinghurst, Sydney. To mark the anniversary, Behind The Gallery brings together the two definitive photographers of The Strokes, Cody Smyth and Colin Lane, whose combined body of work tells the complete visual story of the band's rise and enduring legacy. For the initiated Monster Children reader, you’ll surely remember the Colin Lane feature we had placed in issue sixty nine wherein we ventured over to the Bushwick Community Darkroom to print a few of these beautiful negatives ourselves. How funny his work would end up on our very own doorstep, but how lovely indeed that you have the chance to see them in person alongside some of Cody’s incredible bit of vision.
