We Went To Sand To City In New York With Slowtide And Evan Mock

Images by Elena Saviano

Last night, we went over to LES to check out some art, drink some Juneshine, and hang with Slowtide at their event, Sand To City, an art show and fundraiser curated by Evan Mock.

It doesn’t take much to get us excited, but it takes a lot for us to get out of the house. What brought us? An eclectic and diverse collection of works by such names as Gonz, Mario Sorrenti, Waylon Bone, and many, many others, all put together by Evan, printed on Slowtide’s best fabrics, and the sale of which went to the benefit of the Public Art Fund, a very important and very worthy organization that encourages and facilitates arts and humanities studies, access, and public presentation. There were a lot of people. Like, a lot of people. So many people, in fact, that we had to step outside and smoke anxiety cigarettes across the street while Elena shot photos for us. All together, it was a good time, a worthy cause, and we were delighted to say hello and marvel at the beautiful art/people. Cheers.
