Watch: Getting The Juice With Jules Featuring The Jungle Giants

I was recently offered the opportunity to sit down with Sam Hales and Andrew Dooris from The Jungle Giants.

I didn’t know it at the time but they were in Sydney for some press ahead of their most recent single release ‘Tell Me How It Feels’. There’d been quite a clear hiatus over the last four or five years and I, just how I can imagine many of you, were ready for some new music. And if just the possibility of new music wasn't enough, their publicist then suggested that we make and drink margaritas while we have this conversation. I cancelled all other plans for the day.

Now there were a few things that I was reminded of while having this conversation with Sam and Andrew. The first most naturally being; that life throws shitty fucking curveballs at all of us. Even to your favourite musicians. Shocking, right? There really may not be any way of avoiding it.

The second is this; choose wisely when deciding who you want making your margaritas. Pun intended. But truly, when life does throw those curveballs at you, because it will, the importance when choosing who you decide to surround yourself with mustn't be taken lightly. And while it would be nice for us to all have Andrew Dooris making us our margaritas, I fear Sam may not be letting that one go anytime soon. So, at least try and find your very own Dooris.

Finally, when all else is said and done and it just seems to keep on coming at you, sometimes all there really is left to do is to drink two, or ten margaritas, and just let it all happen. Because eventually life will return to some sort of order, so you may as well try to at least enjoy this weird, occasionally shitty ride called life, friends.

Now whether it’s 10am or 10pm go make yourself a margarita, sit back, relax and watch us try and not get progressively drunker throughout the video.
