Things That Don’t Suck: Easy Does It

Drinking is fun.

We enjoy it immensely. It is sort of vital to our lives here at Monster Children, as vital I would say as breathing, or writing, or photography, and that’s really saying something. I suppose, though, if you really crack into it, it’s not so much the alcoholic beverage itself so much as the ceremony that comes along with it. Drinking with your friends at a bar or in a garage, going to concerts and chucking one into the crowd when the mosh pit ensues - these ceremonies and beloved rituals are absolutely integral to our lifestyle. The alcohol itself has hardly anything to do with it- it’s more an afterthought, or a side effect.

But what if I want the ceremony and ritual and community and camaraderie but don’t drink? There is a growing scene of sobriety in skateboarding, music, and art. The decision not to drink alcohol can be for a variety of reasons, good or bad, and we respect them all. Some of us here have resigned from alcohol all together, and so it is with that degree of expertise that we can declare that the new NA beer brand, Easy Does It, personified and repped hard by our good friend Erik Ellington, does not suck.

It’s actually quite good, and we speak from experience. Congratulations, EDI and Erik on your new venture. Looking forward to you.
