Oasis Play Sydney
Photography by Charlie Hardy.
Absolute legends.
The world’s favorite Mancunians played to over one hundred and forty thousand people in Sydney this past weekend. One hundred and forty thousand. That is an absurd amount of faces to be smiling and clapping and screaming not to look back in anger. From “Wonderwall” to “Champagne Supernova,” every chorus hit like muscle memory as Sydney was swallowed by Oasis fever — three stripes, tears and pint-in-the-air euphoria — as fans travelled from every corner of the country (and more than a few from abroad) to belt it all out together.
It’s wild to think this tour has sold over 2.6 million tickets across Europe, Asia, North America, and now Australia, with South America still to come. Three decades on, the songs that shaped a generation still feel untouchable — timeless, loud and full of heart. We caught the opportunity to send some lucky faithful into the fray, and so one of our favorite photographers, Charlie Hardy, snapped away. Here’s what he came back with.
