Monster Children’s Best Skate Parts Of 2025
It was a long year.
Not the best, not the worst, but definitely had a lot of skating. As it comes to a close, we look back on the parts we liked the most, the parts we argued over, and the parts that made Caleb think, ‘that’s an ender?’ It’s cold (or hot, I guess, if you’re in the southern hemisphere), it’s almost the holidays - let’s just fucking get there. Here, in no particular order, are our favorite skate parts (and videos) of 2025.
Diego Todd - Hockey IV
‘Like I said when it came out, yeah, I guess my favorite part is the guy who wall rid a chain link fucking fence. I liked it so much I put it in the print issue (available now).’ - Naz
Karim & Antonio - Johnny's Spitfire Vid
‘This part genuinely feels like skateboarding in its purest form: two best friends going back to back, smiling, joking around, having fun, all while happening to be two of the best skateboarders on the planet.’ - Josh Sabini
Akwasi Owusu - Endless Beauty
‘Pop.’ - Jordan Afron
Cyrus Bennett - Blackout Try
‘Skateboarding's favourite 180 fakie manualler, filmed by 2021's Q.S.S.O.T.Y in Paris. This part single-handedly made me enjoy skateboarding again. Thank you, Cyrus and Ben.’ - Josh Sabini
Ben Field - Benfy by Redd Sarson
‘Gnarly skating, an insane amount of board control, a bunch of previously unskated cutty spots, and an unexpected dip in a neighbour's pool, all while being filmed and edited to perfection by Redd Sarson. This part is awesome.’
Aleksi ‘Aatsi’ Suovaara - WANDER
‘And not only because he skated to my favorite song (it’s true, thanks for spoiling myself to myself, Spotify Wrapped), but because watching him skate feels like watching your friend’s friends skate - like when you’re a kid, and you pull up to a spot and the older kids are there skating but you’re with one of your friends so it’s all good, and you get brought into the group for the day and you get to see what skating looks like. A light touch, an interesting take, a smile that says, ‘this is about having fun.’ This is like seeing skating for the first time.
Gabriel Summers - GABBERS
‘How on earth are you supposed to one-up yourself when you risk death every time you film a trick, and your breakout part was released when you're in your thirties? Gabbers answers that in his latest part edited by Tor Strom, damn.’ - Josh Sabini
Simon Bannerot - Spitfire Part
‘I bet you thought I was going to list Simon’s Raw part that came out a couple of weeks ago. You’re wrong. Simon has had a very good year, and this part deserves more attention than it got.’ - Naz
Hjalte Halberg - DANCEUR
‘I would have entered this if for the one fakie manny at 2:45. Luckily, Hjalte does more tricks than that.’ - Reilly
