Jess Mudgett & The Humboldt Manifest

Produced in conjunction with Bleach Productions. Directed, shot and edited by Tyler Orton. Additional photography by Mark Welsh.

The Humboldt Manifest is the first film project by The James Brand, done in partnership with yours truly. Buckle up, buttercup.

Sometimes you have to follow your heart, no matter how much sense it does or doesn’t make. For Portland-based artist Jess Mudgett an abandoned building in the middle of the Nevada beckoned. Driven past a million times, by a million people who never gave this structure a second thought, Jess saw something that they didn’t: possibility.

So he hopped in a car and drove a couple thousand miles to the middle of absolute bumfuck nowhere with some friends, boards, and paint to convert a random isolated building into a bonafide piece of art. One man’s trash is another man’s canvas, or somethin’ like that. Watch and get inspired.
