Watch: First Albums With The Avalanches

Monster Children Magazine Issue #75 is out now, and so is The Avalanches’ new album, No Bad Memories. To celebrate these two monumental moments happening at the same time, we’ve partnered with the group for our cover story and feature article in the new issue.

The feature sees The Avalanches reexamine the digital age through No Bad Memories, exploring music, art and film. The group revisits the forgotten clicks and dings of a computerised generation, drawing lines between ephemeral sound and cultural development to create music that’s deliciously danceable. Art directed by longtime Monster Children friend Jonathan Zawada, the feature explores the group’s process of bringing this musical project to life across multiple mediums and formats.

To mark the album’s release, we also wanted to look back at where the band’s earliest interest in music began. We recently sat down with them at Monster Children in Sydney to discuss the first albums they ever bought. Watch First Albums with The Avalanches now.
