Disposable: Sasami

Just a girl in her Bucee's Buc-kini tippin' her pink cowgirl hat to the world in all its wildness and wonder.

As Sabini suggested quite rightfully in his interview with Sasami earlier this year, the pool of reference from which she draws inspiration is vast - not only pop or rock but classical and electronic - and that makes for more exciting, more layered music.

If you haven’t read the interview Josh did with Sasami, you’re fucking blowing it, and you should read it here. If you have read it, then you’ll understand why and how we like what Sasami does, splattering blood all over the silver screen of our lives with her music which we’ve found is best listened to with eyes closed and feelings torn, but we aren’t here to tread on how good she is, that’s what the interview was for. This is a Disposable - a glimpse into the lives and visual aspects of our favorite people. This is Sasami on tour.

Me and my drummer Diego getting surly backstage before the Portland show on the B.O.S.S. tour.

At a certain point of the tour the attained van stench required a daily aroma therapy VANDLE (van-candle) in the cup holder.

This charming diner was guilelessly named "The Oregon Trail Restaurant." The brim-hatted man behind us was eating a gorgeous cheeseburger.

Mood Killer, who toured with us, had a pre-show ritual of eating ceremonial cacao and honey before shrouding their visage with a blood-red hexagrammic veil every night.

Data from Star Trek was waiting for us backstage in Boise. His personality was a little flat.

Sometimes Diego forgets my name so I have to write it on his clothing. My pink cowboy hat was a hit in Idaho.

Unsurprisingly, vermillion crushed velvet is a shade and texture that is really flattering as a backdrop for my glorious french horn, named Wilhelmina. I have had her since junior year of high school and she has travelled around the world with me.

As a Cancer girlie on tour, I ventured to see, swim in, or be misted by as many water features across the country as possible. This was the morning before the Denver show!

The crests, curves and crags of the country's natural spaces stir awe and reverence in all, especially those who spend much of the day in the confines of a van! This is Mood in front of the Snake River Canyon.

Sometimes you just gotta Ubereats Wendy's to the airbnb on a day off.
