Disposable: Gate Is Good

Gate is good, true that.

@gateisgood is a photography blog populated with images shot by London-based photographers Thomasin McKenzie and Ben Sarikaya. Ben, having dabbled in photography on and off since adolescence, found a groove in film photography and has shot fashion, bts, and music videos among other things. Meanwhile Thomasin came upon the medium in 2021 while working on a film about a portrait artist where the director asked her to explore self portraiture, but that felt weird, and she found herself gravitating more toward street photography. ‘Fast forward to 2024 Ben and I started dating and he introduced me to film photography, which has been a really exciting and somewhat intimidating learning curve for me.’

They recently traveled to Venice for a leisure trip, so we ordered them a disposable camera. When that camera didn’t arrive, they just bought one themselves, but we PayPal-ed them for it, so it’s sort of like we gave it to them. Kind of.
