Curren Caples Releases First Ever Signature Vans Fragrance

For a man as talented as Curren Caples across not one but two board sports, a signature shoe with Vans has no doubt been a long time coming.

Releasing his first pro model by teasing the shit out of everyone with the campaign above shows off yet another side of him to be jealous of - his humour. We already knew Curren was a funny guy but we’ve got to give it to Vans, they really have been doing things with some personality of late. Nothing like yanking the chain, all the while bringing in a bunch of mates and fellow Vans lords Ray Barbee, Anthony Van Engelen, Geoff Rowley, Omar Hassan, and Steve Van Doren along for the fun in the desert.

We’ve had the pleasure of hanging with Curren many times over the years and a pro model release at the age of 29 seems a fitting milestone for his influence on skating and legacy within the Vans team. Officially joining the FA World Entertainment camp back in 2023, Curren continues to amaze half a million instagram followers with his unbreakable ankles and annual Turtle Bay check in.

The CURREN Model will be available in three different colourways - a simple all black, all red and a grey/yellow, with all the usual Vans skate technology including reinforced DURACAP, POPCUSH insoles and SICKSTICK™ rubber compound. Let’s be real, with a face like Curren’s he could have sold us something whack and we still would have bought it, but this model boasts just the right amount of Vans detailing and Caples' understated influence to make us want to part ways with our pennies. Those Vulcanised soles (the special heat treatment that makes Vans so iconically skate fit) are at the heart of this design because yeap, the CURREN is for skating. It’s a sleek, functional skate shoe with an iconic campaign to match. We reckon you should still do the fragrance though. Congratulations Curren.
