All Roads Lead to Marketta

Young Henrys are hurling their skate team into a purpose-built van supplied by tour sponsors Volcom Australia and sending them out on a three-day, east-coast skate and live music tour! How is that not going to be fun?

Stopping in Newcastle, Port Macquarie, and Byron Bay before finally reaching sunny Miami Marketta on the Gold Coast, the tour—All Roads Lead To Marketta—kicks off on March 2. Let’s dig into the details.

First, the touring skate team: Australian Skater of the Year Rob Pace, reigning QLD State Champion Aimee Massie, and Young Henrys’ newest recruits: Lenard ‘Lenny’ TejadaKai Shimakage, and George Richards.

With the team assembled and safely packed in the van, the All Roads Lead To Marketta mission will begin with an inspection of the local skate spots and the shouting of a good many drinks at Newcastle's The Ship Inn on Thursday, March 2. The following day, Friday, March 3, the tour van will make its way up the coast, stopping at ‘secret skate locations’ before heading to Hello Sailor in the heart of Port Macquarie. More rounds from Young Henrys, and also Adam Harpaz and Pam Hata providing tunes long into the evening.

Making one final stop before their massive BEST SERVED LOUD show at Miami Marketta, Young Henrys will be heading to Byron Bay to skate the infamous Bangalow Skatepark. After an afternoon of shredding their ever-luvin-tits off, the crew will then head to Bangalow Bowlo for a live-music takeover featuring the psych-rock Byron locals Mudwagon and Couch Wizard, and Brisbane pop-punk four-piece Radium Dolls all on deck to make sure your ears ring for at least a week.

Finally, the All Roads Lead to Marketta tour will come to its noisy, beer-soaked conclusion on Sunday, March 5, at the Young Henrys BEST SERVED LOUD series return at Miami Marketta, with King Stingray, Gerringong's The Terrys, Adelaide's Teenage Joans, local legends Bella Amor and Chutney, plus skate demos from Volcom Australia's skate team.

Grab your mates and follow the van!
