Our buddy Ross Harris has made another of his LA-centric mini-documentaries, and this time he’s turned his camera on the painter Alex Schaefer.
Alex Schaefer is a plein-air painter living and working in LA. ‘Plein-air’ means he paints outside on an easel while passersby look over his shoulder and offer their thoughts. Despite this, Alex has maintained his passion for painting outside where strangers can annoy him, and he touches on this in the video above. He also tells about the time Homeland Security came to his home because he goes out in public and paints pictures of banks exploding. Because the banks are bastards. Watch the vid above, check out Alex’s work at his website, and maybe take a look at Ross’ other films too. Why not? You’re not busy.
