Beer Truck Tragedy Horror Disaster Miracle

A truck carrying an absolute ass-load of Victoria Bitter went tits-up north of Taree Tuesday, leaving thousands of tinnies strewn across the Pacific Highway.

The crash shut down one of two southbound lanes on the highway approaching Manning River Drive, and the mess had to be cleaned up pronto. Fortunately, hundreds of motorists and local residents came to the rescue, clearing the many cans of piss away as though their lives depended on it. But this isn’t the first time a beer truck has crashed and created a dionysian free-for-all. In the early hours of April 10, 2001, a truck crashed into a river in Murwillumbah, NSW, and could only be salvaged by releasing its heavy cargo—some 40,000 bottles of beer. If you missed the resultant documentary, Murbah Swamp Beer, you’re in for a treat. If you have seen it, see it again. It’s solid gold. Click the vid above.
