If you’re a Guy Ritchie fan from his Snatch and Lock Stock days, you’re probably going to love this.
The trailer for his upcoming action crime film just dropped, and it’s a lot to digest. We’ve got Matthew McConaughey as a drug kingpin, Hugh Grant as some kind of cockney savant, Henry Golding as the drug lord usurper, and Colin Farrell as… himself? Like all good London crime capers, people are locked in trunks and thrown from high places, and it might just be the thing to fill the void left by Top Boy.
The Gentleman’s official synopsis says the film follows, ‘American expat Mickey Pearson (Matthew McConaughey) who built a highly profitable marijuana empire in London. When word gets out that he’s looking to cash-out of the business forever it triggers plots, schemes, bribery, and blackmail in an attempt to steal his domain out from under him.’
Watch the trailer for The Gentleman above and keep your eyes peeled for the film’s release in 2020.
