What can 160-million get you?
A Scorcese directed mob film starring Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, Harvey Keitel, Bobby Cannavale, Anna Paquin, and Ray Romano, plus heaps of stunt cars to fill with bullet holes and flip into rivers. That’s the figure Netflix just coughed up for The Irishman, a decade-spanning, organised crime epic, based on the book I Heard You Paint Houses. In the film, De Niro plays Frank, a war vet turned hitman for the notorious Bufalino crime family. Frank reflects on his career-defining hits, along with the disappearance of his ‘best bud’ Jimmy Hoffa (Pacino), whose body was never found. I’m not excited—you’re excited. Watch the just-dropped trailer above and stay tuned for a Netflix release date.
