adidas Originals and adidas Skateboarding’s colossal graffiti and street art takeover is making its way from LA to NY, and you’re not going to be disappointed.
The three stripes’ tribute to street culture, Beyond the Streets, will span over 100,000 square feet and feature works from over 150 artists at Twenty Five Kent in North Williamsburg. The exhibition will host a collection of paintings, sculptures, photography and custom installations, along with performances, lectures, and films from iconic artists such as Keith Haring, Jenny Holzer, Cleon Peterson, Craig Stecyk, Shepard Fairey, Takashi Murakami, Nina Chanel Abney, and more.
Curated by Roger Gastman (co-author of The History of American Graffiti and co-producer of Exit Through the Gift Shop), the exhibition will run for three months and include a special project with the Beastie Boys, an installation by Mark Gonzales, a charity dinner benefiting the Harold Hunter Foundation and so much more good shit, we don’t even have the space to write about it all here. With this amount of street art history all in the one place, you’d be mad to miss it.
Beyond the Streets opens Friday, June 21st at 25 Kent Ave, Brooklyn NY. Tickets and event information can be found here.
