Five trillion plastic bags enter circulation across the world each year.
Thankfully, though, the tide has turned, and ignoring the problem just won’t cut it anymore. Corona and Parley for the Oceans, two industry giants, have teamed up in the fight against single-use plastic in Bali, with the help of some of Australia’s best artists and world champion surfers.
On the shores of Keramas this week, Corona and Parley’s brand new pop-up space dubbed ‘La Casa’ appeared. The temporary collab spot (made from 1.5 tons of recycled plastic) played host to artists and surfers including Stephanie Gilmore, Gabriel Medina, Rosy Hodge Gemma O’Brien, Nadia Hernández, and Speto, who paired up to design limited edition reusable bags, on sale now.
The limited-edition bags are available for purchase online at wslstore.com, with each purchase funding the donation of three additional bags and the removal of more than 20 bottles worth of plastic from oceans and coastlines. It’s a massive contribution to the island paradise, who pledged to ban all single use-plastics by the end of this year.
