The first teaser trailer for Quentin Tarantino’s ninth film has dropped, and it’s pretty obvious why it’s been five years in the making.
Unlike most movie trailers today, the minute-and-a-half clip doesn’t give much of the movie’s plot away, besides the setting in late 1960s Los Angeles. ‘I’ve been working on this script for five years, as well as living in Los Angeles County most of my life, including in 1969, when I was seven years old,’ Tarantino said. ‘I’m very excited to tell this story of an L.A. and a Hollywood that don’t exist anymore.’
The teaser hints at a storyline that revolves around a movie star and his stunt double (Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt, respectively) and the brutal Manson Family murders of ’69, with Margot Robbie playing Sharon Tate.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood will be in theatres this July, so you’ll have to make do with the above trailer until then.
