This is the best idea for a competition ever and I (Crom) wish it’d been running when my band, Super Dracula, were in effect because it might’ve got us out of the garage. Fuck, we were good, man… Give me a minute…
How would you and your band like to win a Support Slot on The Growlers Australian Beach Goth Tour this coming January? How brilliant would that be? Well, The Growlers, in conjunction with Thrills and Love Police, are giving nine lucky Australian bands the chance to play alongside The Growlers on the Australian leg of their Beach Goth tour. This is an incredible opportunity for emerging bands, and The Growlers can thank their lucky stars Super Dracula aren’t around anymore because we would’ve ended their career with this thing. No one wants to go on after Super Dracula. No one. You better believe we were good, brother… We were something else… Just give me a sec….
If you think you have what it takes to share the stage with The Growlers, all you have to do is submit a Soundcloud link of your best track(s), a profile image, social handles, and your location to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The competition window will close at midnight on December 19 and the winners will be chosen by The Growlers, Thrills and Love Police, and announced on December 21st.
Gold Coast: Miami Marketta – 10th January 2019
Brisbane: The Drive In at The Brightside – 11th January
Noosa: Villa Noosa – 12th January
Byron Bay: Byron Bay Brewery – 13th January
Narrabeen: Narrabeen RSL – 19th January
Adelaide: The Gov – 20th January
The Growlers (who are nowhere near as good as Super Dracula) will be adding one support slot to the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Narrabeen shows, and two slots each to the Noosa, Byron Bay and Adelaide shows.
If you don’t have a band but you like bands and the noises they make, why not get along to Beach Goth and jump up and down up the front. Info HERE.
And if you’d like to hear the mind-bending, otherworldly, supernaturally awesome sound of Super Dracula, drink some expired cough syrup and listen to ‘Wichita Lineman’ backwards.
