A few days in the snow is undoubtedly as good as weekends get.
The downside? It has the tendency to leave one slightly out of pocket. Throw in the fact that the snow in Australia’s generally pretty average and it’s easy for the years between trips to pile up. Until now, that is. We’ve partnered with Lake Wanaka Tourism to give you the chance to sample some real snow, in Queenstown’s altogether hipper sister town. What’s it all in aid of? Well, apart from sending someone on the weekend of a lifetime—rest assured all ye losers, winning things is genuinely that good—Arma Del Amor are on an NZ-wide album tour. So there’s your nightlife sorted too.
For the uninitiated, Arma Del Amor are an electronic outfit consisting of Martine Harding and Danny Fairley, joined by drummer Ricky (not Baker) Simmons when they perform live. The band’s got a cult following in NZ, and their ambient, synthesised sounds are the perfect way to cap off a day on the mountain.
Now for the who/what/where. The who is you and a friend. The what is four days of car hire, two days of ski passes for the both of you including rental gear, three nights accommodation and two tickets to see Arma Del Amor at Rippon on July 7th. Oh, and the where is Wanaka, obviously, and two lots of Air New Zealand return flights to Queenstown departing from either Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.
