The 1985 Inland Surfing Championships Was a Hell of a Time to Be Alive

This week the boys riff on dads, the unrelenting aging process and the possibility of it robbing Jordy Smith of a world title, and, most entertainingly, the bad old days of professional surfing, for which Bainy had a front row seat. Most notably the first ever event held in a wave pool—the 1985 World Professional Inland Surfing Championship held in Pennsylvania.
