It’s a never ending tail chase, this internet world of ours.
But as concentration spans deteriorate, and the shelf life of content shortens, it’s important to take the proverbial hat off where it’s due. So, bravo Huck, this is damn near perfect.
Valley of a Thousand Hills tells the story of a group of black kids in rural South Africa who have little more than skateboarding. The Indigo Skate Camp is the groups spiritual home, and here we see the story of them travelling to their first skate comp.
Pieces like this have a tendency to be self indulgent, on the directors part, but the weighting of this is beautiful. A heart-warming tale for a soul destroying weak.
