There’s something so gratifying about watching a band grow up in the spotlight and still remain resolutely true to themselves and their music. When Sydney band The Jezabels burst onto the scene in 2007, they were full of youth, energy and promise. Through the years they’ve released a bunch of EPs and two full-length records, and while they may not be a bunch of amped up kids running around stage on a sugar high anymore, they still pack a mean punch.
Case in point, their first single, ‘Pleasure Drive’, off their upcoming record, Synthia. It’s sleek, polished and sophisticated, but still playful with a hint of cheek. Nearly nine years strong and The Jezebels are still making some of the best music coming out of Australia.
