Wand – 1000 Days

Man, does Wand make you feel like a real pile of lazy bones or what? 1000 Days is their third album since last year. I wonder what it’s like to be so talented that you write not due, but tre enjoyable discos. I imagine it would feel as good as learning Italian, which I’ve yet to get around to. 1000 Days is a slight departure from their previous release, Golem, a wall of noise that sounded like Black Sabbath a couple hits deep. Their latest offering still has roots in their signature psych-rock sound, but it’s as if the soil is starting to loosen around them. Title track ‘1000 Days’ is as close to a ballad as you’re gonna get, and it sounds like a Simon and Garfunkel B side, had their balls ever dropped. Look out for standout track ‘Stolen Footsteps’ too. Enough to make Ty Segall jealous.

Album drops next week. You can pre-order here.
