Artist Foster Huntington is truly a Renaissance man, so we were hardly surprised to discover that the stunning, multi-platform treehouse in Washington state’s Columbia River Gorge was his next undertaking. We were already quite envious of his time spent living in vans, but this looks like quite an upgrade.
Last Spring, Foster was joined by friends from all over the country who lent their carpentry skills, ranging from zero to professional, to the project at hand. And the results? The Cinder Cone, which consists of a main treehouse, walkway, front-cabin, skatebowl, and wood-fired hottub. Meanwhile, Foster created a process book and directed a short film with Farm League on camera duty, which documents the year-long process of building a dream with a team of friends.
