Johan Stuckey is a walking, talking, cartoon character. I think his prescription in his eye glasses are so thick that without them he might be considered close to blind. He probably has one of the goofiest demeanors out of all of my friends, which sometimes makes it hard to believe how good he is on a skateboard. He’s a good-hearted guy that will try and make the best of any situation, and by his attempts and appearance he’ll succeed to bring a smile to your face. I’m excited to see what’s to come of him and I’m sure I speak for many others when stating that. Having said that, I present to you the Johan interview.
State your full name?
Johan Dean Stuckey
Where are you originally from?
Vero Beach, Florida
What brought you out to LA?
I was just sitting in Florida doing nothing. Figured I’d come out to LA and give skating the old college try.
Is it hard to meet a girlfriend out here?
It’s impossible. Can’t trust any of em.
I know you were getting boards from Foundation, what made you switch to the wknd crew?
Foundation was rad and Sinclair was nothing but great to me. But it just didn’t feel right, if that makes sense? I would see all my friends going skating together and filming funny commercials for wknd or whatever. And I just felt like I needed to be apart of it. I mean it’s all of my best friends. It just made sense. I feel like I finally fit in somewhere. Even though it’s super small still. It’s like what I’ve been waiting for or something. And we do what we want and don’t give a fuck what anyone else thinks. It’s also nice to be apart of something from the very beginning. Help it grow and it helps me grow. It’s amazing.
Any advice on the public transportation in Los Angeles? I think you’re a trooper for dealing with it considering its complete shit.
People always talk so much shit on the transportation here, it’s seriously not bad at all. It’s obviously not as good as New York. But it gets you pretty much anywhere in LA. People are just spoiled and expect everything to be perfect. I back the LA transit. As for advice, it depends on where you want to go. Red line, blue line, gold line. They take you all over the LA county. Google it man.
How is it working at a woman’s clothing store?
It is probably the best job I could ask for. My boss is the best person ever and is super cool with me having to go skate or go on trips or whatever. It’s laid back. Hot girls always coming in. I’m in the back so I don’t get to see as much as people think. Haven’t like hooked up with a girl from meeting her there. People always think that I’m pulling girls from working there haha.
Is your favorite meal bacon grill cheese?
Yep. Or Denny’s sometimes does a grilled cheese with mozzarella sticks in it. That’s my favorite. I love cheese.
Why didn’t you get your meal paid for at your free lunch interview?
I got there before the guy showed up who films/pays for it, and I couldn’t wait. I was just too damn hungry. It was only four bucks though haha
