Nadia Hernandez at the Standard Store Sydney

Venezuelan-born, Sydney-based artist and designer, Nadia Hernandez has launched her art show “Traditional Sources” at the Standard Store in Sydney’s Surry Hills up from February 20.

A true multi-disciplinary artist, Nadia Hernandez continues her ongoing exploration of identity in her show “Traditional Sources,” toying with the idea of nostalgia and cultural longing through her focus on exploring folk art narratives with traditional technique.

Paying homage to Venezuelan folklore, Nadia’s work mediates to express transitioning cultural identities and seeks to create an artifact evolving around migrant identity that pertains to alternate culture. – Angel Jhang
